About the UUID Generator
Generate universally unique identifiers in bulk. Version 4 UUIDs are fully random, using your browser's cryptographically secure random number generator. Version 7 UUIDs begin with a millisecond timestamp, so they sort by creation time — ideal for database primary keys.
Generate up to 1,000 at once, in upper or lower case, with or without hyphens.

Frequently asked questions
UUID v4 or v7?
Use v7 for database keys — its time ordering keeps B-tree indexes compact and fast. Use v4 when identifiers shouldn't reveal creation time.
Can two UUIDs collide?
In practice, no. A v4 UUID has 122 random bits; you'd need to generate billions per second for decades for a meaningful chance of collision.
Is a GUID the same as a UUID?
Yes. GUID is Microsoft's name for the same 128-bit identifier format.
